IWMS DATA PRIVACY POLICY

Welcome to Welfare Benefits Board.

This data privacy policy applies to the IWMS hosted instance available through wbb.gov.lk. The data is collected for the primary purpose of evaluating, selecting and providing support for the vulnerable segments of the society.

WHAT TYPE OF DATA DO WE CONTROL AND PROCESS?

This data privacy policy is related to the data collected through the IWMS application using Kobo Toolbox Collect. The primary data collected is related to the personal information of families who have requested to welfare support from the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL).

IWMS gathers data related to the criteria identified for evaluating the applicants as per specified in the Government Gazette No. 24 of 2002. In addition, the Aswasuma app also gathers information that could assist the various social welfare programs in the country.

The Aswasuma app also gathers limited data related to the data collectors, location information and the data and time of the data collected.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR DATA?

IWMS takes very seriously the privacy, confidentiality and security of personal information and any data collected or stored using the IWMS app.

• Data that we control: includes personal information of social welfare applicant data (reference details, location coordinates and profile) is used in ways to rank applicants and identify eligibility for social welfare programs. Personal information is never sold to third parties.
• Aggregate data we control: will be used to monitor the progress and completeness of the data collection and to design appropriate social welfare programs.
• Data that we process: IWMS app may process data on behalf of other registered social welfare programs registered with the GoSL. The applicants will be informed when their data is shared with other organizations, providing social welfare support.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR DATA?

IWMS app is committed to protecting the data you share with us. We employ industry standard best practices (both technical and administrative) to protect against unauthorized access of your data. We cannot guarantee, however, its absolute security. To protect from loss of data, we do frequent system and incremental backups which are stored encrypted in various locations. To further protect your data, we encourage you to never to share your login information and to change your passwords regularly. CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

We may need to modify this privacy statement from time to time, especially in response to changing norms and legislations, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you, provided a valid email address has been provided.
